Fussybutt Fitted Diapers + AIOs

DIAPER CARE:
Markings on your diaper are from washable fabric marker and will come out in the laundry. Any plastic material around the embroidery site is water soluble stabilizer and will come out in the wash as well.
Please wash dyed diapers separately in hot water once or twice before including it with your other diapers during washing. Be sure to dry your PUL diapers on hot at least once before using. In addition, it is best to gently remove the snap-in soaker before washing whenever possible to reduce stress around the snap area and prolong the life of the diapers. Take care to unfasten snaps gently, as yanking could cause the snaps to pull through the fabric.
The fabric used to make your diaper has been washed and dried at least 3 times to minimize shrinkage, but after several washings the diaper will become more absorbent. After the first wash in hot your elastic will shrink a bit, this is normal and the fit of the diaper should be evaluated after washing rather than before.
Since organic fabrics are more delicate than poly/cotton fabrics we recommend treating them with care. When possible, wash with regular diaper load and dry on the lowest heat setting you can get away with. You may line dry undyed diapers but since the sun can fade colors use your judgement when line drying any dyed diapers. Avoid using Oxy-Clean on dyed diapers!
Do not boil diapers.
This is not necessary and will also affect the durability of snaps and elastic. Please do not pull on the elastic when it is still warm from the dryer. Any of the above will void the warranty on the products!

Fussybutt Wool Covers + Pants

WOOL CARE: Fussybutt wool covers and pants are hand wash only!
If your wool is soiled or if it starts to smell like urine it’s time to wash, otherwise you may air it out between wearing and re-use without washing.

To wash, rinse the cover under cool running water first and then soak in lukewarm water for 5-10 minutes with a bit of wool wash such as Eucalan. Then gently agitate the cover by hand.
Remove it from water and gently squeeze the excess water out – do not wring the cover! Use a towel to gently remove the last bit of water.
If you are using a wool wash bar soap do not rub the soap directly on the cover. Instead, lather it up in your hands and then rub the lather from your hands onto the cover. Wet the cover first, then wet your hands and the soap, lather the soap in your hands, and then apply lather to wool. Let the soap sit in the wool for 5 minutes – LAMB soap contains lanolin so you won’t have to lanolize your wool as often if you use this.

LANOLIZING: You should lanolize when you notice a loss of absorption. To lanolize, mix approx. ½” tubed liquid lanolin in a bowl of very hot water (you must get the lanolin to melt fully within the water for best results). Let the water cool off so that it is just lukewarm and place the cover in the mixture. Gently work lanolin water into the cover with your hands. Let cover sit for 10-15 minutes and then dry using method above (squeezing and use towel).

DYED ITEMS: Every step is taken to prevent bleeding of your dyed items but please use caution when washing. Wash your dyed wool separate from all your other wool and don’t allow the wool to soak for longer than 5 minutes.
Do not let cloth diapers get oversaturated especially when using a colored wool cover, as large amounts of urine can cause the dyes in the wool to become unstable, thus causing the color to bleed. This bleeding may continue with each wear after the initial problem starts, so please be sure not to leave your child in a wet diaper for too long! If you plan to use wool overnight we recommend undyed or very light colored wool.

Fussybutt Moonbow Cloth Menstrual Pads

How to Care for Cloth Menstrual Pads:
After each use, rinse your pad in cold water until the water runs clear. If you prefer to soak your pads in water until wash day, make sure to change the water daily, and keep the soak container out of reach of children!

For Optimal Washing Care:
When you are ready to do laundry, it may be a good idea – though not absolutely necessary – to run the pads through a cold rinse or a pre-wash to remove any remaining stains.   Afterwards, run a full cycle on cold using a small amount of detergent. Heat will set protein stains such as blood, so you want to avoid washing on hot!
You may choose to hang dry to conserve energy, but drying these pads in the dryer is perfectly fine.

Sunning will lighten most stains, but the sunlight can also lighten dyed fabric unevenly, so use your judgement when placing colored pads in the direct sunlight.
If you wish to wash your pads with a batch of cloth diapers it’s fine to do so.  Some customers even wash their rinsed pads with their daily clothing laundry with no problems

Avoid fabric softener or bleach on your pads as this can cause a loss of absorbency and can irritate skin.
